Mood Boards
These are my mood boards, the first one my advertisers, it is a collection of brands in which my target audience of 13-17 year old would buy/watch, I have chosen these brands from personal knowledge of being a teenager and having siblings and friends who are also teenagers and from my questionnaire results. For television I have chosen programmes such as American Horror Story and Vampire Diaries and the television stations MTV and ITV as these are all popular among teenagers- male and female. For brands I have gone with a mixture of everyday spends, splurges and in the middle as my target audience could be either at the younger spectrum and not have a job and only have pocket money to spend or be slightly older and have a job so therefore money is available; Converse, Simple Skincare, Pandora, New look, Apple, boots etc. all things that my target audience either has or wants. I have also included food and music as these are all good advertisers that fit well with my target audience.
My second mood board is my fonts and colours mood board; I selected these fonts to use on my magazine as they are all clear and bold, just like on other teen pop magazines perhaps to catch attention, keep it light hearted or make it easy to read, I have also written on my mood board 'CAPITAL LETTERS' as I think using capital letter will also make it clear. At last minute though I did decide to use some fonts of the font builder website 'dafont' as I thought it would make my magazine look even better.
The colours I have decided to use are the classic 'poppy', teen colours; pink, purple, yellow, white and black, I have also decided to use blue so it appeals to boys as well as girls as my magazine isn't only targeted at girls and my competitors such as 'top of the pops' only have a 15% boys readership so that could be where the niche is, if more boys read it you make more profit. I have selected these colours as they are bright, eye catching and fun- 3 things I want my magazine to be.
